The Arc of Buffalo County is proud to present “Hats Off to Disability Pride” — a joyful and inclusive hat fashion show for individuals with disabilities of all ages. The event will take place on Friday, July 11, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm on the Stage at Harmon Park in Kearney, Nebraska
This fun celebration invites participants to strut their stuff on the runway in hats that reflect their personality, creativity, and flair. From silly to stylish, handmade to heartfelt, the hats are as diverse as the people wearing them. Attendees can expect music, a DIY hat-decorating station, snacks, and an uplifting community atmosphere.
“This event is about more than just hats,” said Jordan Squiers, Arc Board President. “It’s about creating a space where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and empowered to shine in their own way.”
The event will feature an adaptive-friendly runway, a variety of prize categories such as “Most Creative,” “Silliest Hat,” and “Audience Favorite,” and plenty of photo-worthy moments.
Local businesses and community members are encouraged to participate by sponsoring a prize, donating materials, or simply coming to cheer on participants. Donations help fund accommodations, supplies, and inclusive programming created by the Arc of Buffalo County.
